Trump Hotel D.C. to Open Ahead of Presidential Election
Donald Trump has his eye on Pennsylvania Avenue—and not just the White House. He’s opening a hotel just down the street.
Originally slated to open in 2018, the Trump International Hotel will open in September, two years ahead of schedule and just two months before the presidential election.
The property, the 19th century Old Post Office Pavilion, underwent a $200 million renovation over the past two years that restored the original wood paneling and stonework. The 263-room hotel will have a 6,300-square-foot suite, dubbed the “Trump Townhouse,” with a private entrance; a 13,200-square-foot Presidential Ballroom, one of the largest in D.C.; and a BLT Prime restaurant.
