The rumors are true: Atlantis will debut in the United States, bringing its luxury brand to the 50th state.
The new Atlantis will be built on vacant oceanfront land at Ko Olina Resort in West Oahu, master developer Jeff Stone’s The Resort Group told Pacific Business News. The nearly 650-acre Ko Olina Resort complex is currently home to Disney’s Aulani, the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club and the Four Seasons Resort Oahu.
The project—reportedly costing over $2 billion—has been in the works for over a decade. It will be be similar in design to Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, with the signature Aquaventure waterpark, plus an interactive aquarium, dolphin center and shark habitat. The five-star resort also will have more than 20 restaurants, a nightclub, spas, salons and a fitness center.
The company is also putting millions into its flagship property, Paradise Island, renovating The Coral Tower hotel into a sleek and modern social hub. Atlantis Resorts also has plans to unveil two more projects in 2017, The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences in Dubai and Atlantis Sanya in Hainan, China.
