Amex Business Travel Fills CEO Role With Former Carlson CEO
by Richard D'AmbrosioAmerican Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has hired the former CEO of Carlson Wagonlit travel, Doug Anderson, as its new CEO. He replaces Bill Glenn, who stepped down from the role this spring.
Anderson left Carlson Wagonlit, where he served as president and CEO for about eight years, suddenly in April “to pursue other opportunities.” Glenn stepped down from American Express at about the same time.
Prior to taking the helm at Carlson Wagonlit, Anderson was senior vice president of finance and CFO at UPS Logistics Group. He spent 25 years at UPS, based in the United States, Hong Kong, London and Brussels. He also held senior leader positions with SITA Group, a technology and telecommunications provider in the airline industry
Anderson is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska.
GBT, which was spun off from American Express just over two years ago, has 12,000 employees and operations in nearly 120 countries worldwide.
