Anantara Siam Bangkok Begins $50 Million Overhaul

Anantara Siam Bangkok has announced a landmark $50 million renovation, ushering in a new chapter for one of Thailand’s most iconic luxury properties. The multi-phase transformation will enhance the guest experience while preserving the hotel’s cultural heritage and uninterrupted operations through 2026.

Located in Bangkok’s upscale Ratchadamri district, the hotel first opened in 1983 and is well-known for its traditional Thai architecture and peaceful courtyards. The enhancement project will be guided by the brand’s “Transformed. Timeless. Thai.” philosophy, focusing on design upgrades, new rooms, and updated cultural programming.

The transformation will take place in two phases. Phase one, running through November 2025, includes the complete renovation of Montathip and Kannika Court guest rooms and suites, Garden Terrace Rooms, the Kasara Lounge, the swimming pool and terrace, the fitness center, and select meeting spaces. Phase two, from May to September 2026, will upgrade the Garden Pool Villas, Parichart Court rooms, the grand lobby, Spice Market restaurant, the kids’ club, ballroom, and additional event spaces. All dining venues and upper-level meeting rooms will remain open throughout both phases.

Key additions include six all-new Garden Suites featuring private plunge pools, a signature Jim Thompson Suite created in collaboration with the iconic Thai silk brand, and a reimagined wellness area with Technogym equipment, an infrared sauna, and a Pilates studio. The redesigned pool area will offer a serene, resort-style atmosphere in the heart of the city.

An enhanced cultural program will be woven into the guest journey, with daily rituals that feel uniquely Bangkok: morning alms-giving, guided storytelling, and Thai botanical cocktail hours at AQUA. Signature experiences, including Sak Yant ceremonies, Khon mask-making workshops, and Spice Spoons cooking classes, are also on the docket. Cultural touches will also be found in in-room rituals, seasonal floral displays, and Thai-style welcome and farewell moments.

During the reno, Kasara guests will enjoy daily canapés, enhanced minibar service, and dining credits. Spa treatments will be relocated to suites styled after the Anantara Spa, and fitness and pool access will be provided at the St. Regis Bangkok, just next door.
